One year anniversary

It was May 17th 2008 when THE WAGON opened its doors.We(the staff)had a dream, which was to enter the retail business and bring forth designer trends that were refreshing.So now one year later in 2009,we want to thank all our customers for their love and support.Due to the shakey economy and fast development its hard on small businesses.Special thanks to all the brand companies,fellow retailers,bloggers/writers,Stylists,and everyone in brooklyn especially our neighborhood Crown heights.PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT OUR 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY PARTY IS GOING DOWN SOON.NEW RELEASES,NETWORKING,COCKTAILS,ETC..SO STAY TUNE

Sunday's Inspiration

A lot of us can be busy building the kingdom but have forgotten the King. We can actually be doing "good" but not actually obeying God.

This is a little tricky because after all, God wants us to do good, to be a blessing and to be at work in the ministry. And yes, that's true! Don't take me wrong, God is glorified with all your labor of love for him. (1 Cor. 15:58) Saul was also doing everything that's good. In 1 Sam 15:20-21, Saul said "But I did obey the LORD," "I went on the mission the LORD assigned me. I completely destroyed the Amalekites and brought back Agag their king. The soldiers took sheep and cattle from the plunder, the best of what was devoted to God, in order to sacrifice them to the LORD your God at Gilgal." But he was rebuked by Samuel saying "Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD ?"(1 Sam. 15:22)
Saul was doing what he thinks is good. Saul rationalized that even though God commanded to destroy everything, the plunder they brought would still be acceptable as it will still be offered to God. He failed to obey what exactly God wants him to do. This failure led him to be rejected as King.

In the same way, we can be very busy at ministering, helping the sick, donating to charities and doing "good" based on our understanding but not actually obeying God's will for our lives.

Let's seek God's will in our lives during our time alone with Him and assuredly He'll direct you to what He wants to do in a clear manner and know that His will is good, perfect and pleasing for you.(Romans 12:2) And If you seek him, you will find him(Jer. 29:13)

Today, we wanna introduce a real nice restaurant around the corner from The Wagon. This is by far the best restaurant in the neighborhood. The mini burgers and fries are great, and so are the new friendly owners. They play great music and open pretty late. The bar is magnificent. Try there Nuvo and Grey Goose mix. Feel free to check them out.

Partners make a deal

When racking up the stripes and solids on the table everyman must place his wager.Spag said "show me the money",while Ju denied.Only to raise the stakes much higher and go for the sentimental value.The idea of losing your Vintage original ICEBERG sweater in a game of pool sounds painful.Well back in 1998 when only a few rappers were wearing the brand,a new sub-culture was created in the streets.Ju at first glance immediately declared ownership and acquired a massive collection.Spag who was already collecting POLO & FILA began adding some HISTORY to his wardrobe.The Buzz which turned into a disease, plagued the streets of new york.Kids were hustling & scrambling to stay ahead of the game,some people who never stole began to after seeing the price tags of these items.Stores like ATRIUM,S&D's,and UNTITLED were the one stop shops to obtain some fly iceberg.If there was a party coming up you had to gather your pennies to get new pieces.There were even times when it was more than just competitive,it was an all out war.High schools BOYS & GIRLS,ERASMUS HALL were two of the most fashion savvy schools in Brooklyn.SPAG & JU were definitely involved in these fashion wars in the high school community.Due to high demands and hype the movement/sub-culture began to change.Bootlegging became an extreme problem.Some felt that the bootlegging single-handedly destroyed the brand.

By 2001 all of the true collectors were turned off and moved on to bigger and better things.So though it was short lived it was a great time and beautiful collections.The design concepts of your favorite Disney characters placed on lambswool and cashmere sweaters were classic.Today in 2009 you might still catch people digging in their archive for ICEBERG classics...sentimental value is priceless....

Plaid Threads

Another brand viewed at the Circuit Intermezzo show with a great cut for men is J.A.C.H.S. The brand has some real tasteful button ups for guys this spring/summer. Real clean, great with white pants. Plaid was cool during the fall, so we think its going to last another season or two. What do you think? Feel free to leave a comment.

Joy

I let my Christ Light shine, and my joy is complete.

During a challenging time, I may let the adverse influence of circumstances that are beyond my control cause me to feel down. Thank goodness, I bring myself back up by knowing and affirming that the source of my joy is within me.

Whenever I notice that my focus has gotten off center, I turn my thoughts to the indwelling Christ Spirit. The moment I do, I feel my spirits lift. Joy stirs within me to warm my heart and transform my thoughts with peace and inspiration.

The Christ Spirit within makes my joy complete. There is joy in letting the Christ Light shine through me as love and optimism, as truth and understanding. Knowing that my joy cannot be taken from me, I am empowered to live life fully and completely.

WORTHY

I am God's good in expression.

I am a creation of God; therefore, I know and accept that I am worthy of a life of health and abundance. I am ready to achieve my full potential.

Not being critical of the way I look or think, I do not judge myself according to anyone else. I am a unique creation of God. God creates good and only good. I am good as I am, right where I am, fulfilling a role that no one else can fill in the exact way that I do.

Just as I value myself, so, too, do I value all others. We are unique individuals, and each one of us adds important values to the whole in what we offer as ideas and creativity, dedication and exploration.

We are God's good in expression as we are and where we are.

Rebirth

Christ is risen in me!

It's Easter, a day of sacred celebration. Christ is risen! This message--full of power and grace--is meant for me, as it is meant for all. The Christ is risen in me.

The life of the Christ is divine and transcendent, a life that flows through me now. Each time I refuse the thought that sin and negativity have a hold on me, Christlike ideas rise up in my thoughts. I am uplifted in spiritual consciousness, strong and free. The stone has been rolled away. All obstacles to my good are removed.

Through the Christ, I am restored. My life shines with spiritual glory, and I rededicate myself to walking in the light of the Christ. A new day has dawned. Free and triumphant, I walk in a renewed faith.
