Well this is an interesting question!! I believe it is a combination of both! I your an label whore make sure that you have timeless pieces and that will naturally coordinate with your personal style. Don't buy things just because it screams Louie or Gucci. For instance don’t go ahead and buy the Steven Sprouse shirt, bag, shoes and leggings and wear it all at once. Mix and match. You can do vintage combined with some new flow. Just keep it classic and timeless.
my philosophy is money can't buy u style..Style is a gift that can't be bought even if u have a "Black Card"...lol
Fashion aint shit ~style is everything! Does not matter how many labels you have on nor monograms- you have to have internal swag and once you have that it shows on the outside effortlessly. I tell people to invest in key pieces b/c their everlasting and to go with who they are and how they feel when it comes to dressing.
Any and everything that embodies style should be effortless not what anybody tells you IS fashion.
One thing my mother has always told me " the clothes dont make you , you make the clothes"... She is a very strong believer of that and so am I. Personal style and Swag is a must and of course what tamina said ( timeless and exclusive pieces)...

Well...Fashion is definately a combination of Yourself, your swag, and Your BRANDS!! Fashion is constantly changing as well as Brands, designers constantly change their fashions for their surround environment and consumers. (Think all the designers that have vowed to not use fur, or look at how Louis V. Is making a big transformation from classic to a more modern day look (thanks M. Jacobs, Ye, & Madonna.) however...You, Nor your Swag should ever change! So with that being said Style is definitely a combination of place occasion surroundings body and mood. Style dosent mean you have to stick to all brand looks. The thing is you can't buy style u can only slowly learn it.
style will always & forever be internal. it's okay to be a label whore, just as long as that's who YOU are. dnt be one to impress & show off. YOUR style, Your sense of fashion is a reflection of who YOU are.
